Guests will enjoy the sights, sounds, tastes and rhythms of everyday life in Cuba – with like-minded travelers – during this 7-night cruise
Fort Lauderdale, FL (October 24, 2016) — SinglesCruise.com, the United States' largest organizer of hosted singles cruises, is proud to announce details for its first-ever singles immersion cruise to Cuba. Departing from Miami, FL, on June 25, 2017, the 7-night adventure onboard Fathom's Adonia will include three and a half days of shore excursions in the Cuban port cities of Havana, Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba. Time spent in Cuba will be a cultural exchange experience – part learning and part pure enjoyment – while onboard, guests will have access to all the exclusive events and activities included in every SinglesCruise.com cruise.
"We are extremely thrilled to offer this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to SinglesCruise.com guests. This trip is a cultural immersion adventure – a chance for participants to really get to know the people and the culture, and it's a way to bring Americans and Cubans closer together," noted Sharon Concepcion, Vice President of Leisure Operations for SinglesCruise.com. "In addition to the immensely appealing charm of the people, culture, music, and food of Cuba, this cruise will allow us to do what we do best. That's offering opportunities for like-minded, single travelers to see the world together and enjoy the exclusive extras we provide on each of our cruises."
According to a recent Travel Leaders Group survey on "luxury travel," Cuba is considered the top up-and-coming luxury travel destination. SinglesCruise.com guests will explore:
The cruise includes two days in Havana – Cuba's capital, which is best known for the Spanish-influenced architecture of Old Havana. While in Havana, guests will visit historic castles, fortresses, cathedrals, mansions, art galleries, tropical cabarets, and more. While exploring the city, travelers will have the opportunity to savor coffee in Plaza Vieja, where a few questions may lead a local café owner to explain the role of tourism in Old Havana or demonstrate how coffee beans are roasted. A visit to San Francisco de Assisi Square will also lead to a discussion on the role of religion on the island with patrons of the square's beautiful cathedral.
The southern coastal city of Cienfuegos – also known to Cubans as the "Pearl of the South" – is recognized as the center of Cuba's sugar, tobacco, and coffee trades. Near the entrance to the city's spectacular natural bay stands the great stone fortress of Castillo de Jagua, built in 1745 to protect the city against pirate attacks.
Santiago de Cuba, Cuba:
Santiago de Cuba is the second largest city in Cuba, located in the southeastern area of the island. The distinctly Caribbean spirit of Santiago de Cuba is evident in every aspect of the city's cultural life. It is home to the popular festivals of Carnaval and the Fiesta del Fuego and many of the country's most famous musicians and artists, along with some of its most visited historic sites.
In addition to immersing oneself in the destination, SinglesCruise.com offers its guests a range of its signature activities reserved exclusively for them. These include: an experienced cruise host, exclusive cocktail parties, group dining, theme nights, dance lessons, speed meeting, and karaoke parties; along with specially-chosen shore excursions that interest single travelers and complimentary roommate matching service.
